Calvin Wong is the CEO and Centre Director of AiDLab and holds an Endowed Professorship in Fashion at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is ranked among the world’s top 1% of most-cited scientists in AI & Image Processing according to the Global Report released by Stanford University, with over 170 high-impact journal publications.
He has founded two companies to translate and commercialize research outcomes for the global textile and fashion industry: an AI-based interactive design assistant for fashion (AiDA) and an AI-powered textile inspection system (WiseEye). Both innovations have received prestigious accolades, including the iF Design Award and the Just Style Excellence Award. His work has also gained international media coverage from outlets such as Vogue, The Times, and BBC News.
He has also been invited to deliver keynote talks and serve as a panelist at international conferences and forums, sharing insights on AI applications in design, fashion, and textile industries.
