Ann Ho studied fashion design in Hong Kong Design Institute. She worked very hard and was active in joining competitions for eye-opening and practical experiences. Attributed to her diligence and enthusiasm, she was sponsored by Esprit to participate in an exchange program at Designskolen Kolding in Denmark. Kolding is a cosmopolitan of cultural blending. She was mostly impressed by the syllabus which integrated contemporary arts with bygone elements and let history render imaginations. Ann later applied the concept of "mixing the old with the new" to her final year project.
Ann considers fashion as the reflection of society, the artifact sculpted under the influences of historical developments, cultural changes and contemporary trends, and she emphasises the importance of preserving history. In her final year project, she made prints on the fabric and covered it with a layer of gel to symbolise discovering historical imprints. The cotton nets resembled traditional craftsmanship and the draping forms imitated a fishmonger casting a net. This collection was selected as the "Overall Winner at the Graduation Fashion Show 2017." Ann is also interested in textile design. Denim is one of the material she has explored and used in her collection with drawnwork and patchwork skills.
