Awardee may receive a financial sponsorship up to HK$500,000 or HK$250,000 to undergo overseas work attachment/ study in renowned design companies/ institutes.
Awardees of design practitioners will be required to:
- Undergo work attachment in overseas renowned design companies for 6 to 12 months.
Awardees of design graduates will be required to:

Undergo work attachment in overseas renowned design companies for 6 to 12 months / study abroad for 6 to 18 months.
All awardees will be required to:
- Contribute to the development of Hong Kong’s design and creative industries by returning to Hong Kong as soon as possible after completion of their overseas undertakings and working for a Hong Kong design business for not less than two consecutive years; and
- Become the ambassadors of DFA HKYDTA and share their overseas experience with the organiser or sponsors etc.
Practitioners (Design-related)
Awardees may receive a sponsorship up to HK$500,000 or HK$250,000. Subject to the maximum amount of the award concerned, the award covers the costs directly related to the overseas work attachment including (where appropriate):
- Air fares (round-trip economy class)
- Lodging
- Living expenses
- Any other costs that have been approved by the organiser
Graduates (Design-related)
Awardees may receive a sponsorship up to HK$250,000. Subject to the maximum amount of the award concerned, the award covers the costs directly related to the overseas work/ study attachment including (where appropriate):
- Air fares (round-trip economy class)
- Lodging
- Living expenses
- Any other costs that have been approved by the organiser
Please note:
All awardees are required to submit a detailed plan on the use of the award for approval by the organiser and sponsor, and commence the approved work attachment by end of September 2019 / study by end of February 2020.
