Cheng Rachel Lok Yung
Communication Design | Graduate of PolyU SD (Information Design)
Rachel Cheng graduated from the School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2026, specializing in Information Design. Working across visual identity, graphics, and information systems, she values clarity and structure while keeping her work filled with personality and emotion.

Growing up in Hong Kong fostered her love for local music and visual culture, while keeping her attuned to its evolving creative landscape. She believes design preserves experiences, conveys culture, and reconnects people with the city. This perspective runs through her work, including THE CANTOPATTERNS, visualising her emotional bond with Cantopop, and music design projects during her NOCOMPANY internship.

Her graduation project, melting, draws from her overthinking experiences to turn moments of uncertainty into opportunities for reflection. Using wax as her core medium, its melting and reshaping properties symbolise softening complex thoughts. She created interactive objects, including hourglasses, a scribbling set, and wearable amulets, encouraging people to distract and reshape overthinking moments. Looking ahead, Rachel hopes to design visual identities and graphics for local culture, music, and performance, responding to Hong Kong’s cultural scene and carrying its creative spirit forward.
