Founder, Studio Yellowdot
Bodin earned a degree in bioengineering from Rice University before joining NASA’s Space Center in Houston, where he contributed to the design of spacesuits and life support systems. His passion for design led him to pursue a Master’s in Product Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan, where he received the ADI Compasso d’Oro International Award ‘Targa Giovani’ for his innovative cookware design.
In 2017, he co-founded Studio Yellowdot in Hong Kong with Dilara Kan Hon, merging their distinct backgrounds to create a multidisciplinary design practice. Operating between Hong Kong and Istanbul, the studio works across product and collectible design, embracing sustainability and innovation at the intersection of technology and traditional craftsmanship, logic and emotion, art and science, and East and West.
Yellowdot collaborates with artisans, manufacturers, and brands across Europe and Asia, developing projects from eyewear and home appliances to furniture, lighting, tableware, and wall tiles. Their designs have earned international recognition, including the Red Dot Design Award, Green Product Design Award, ADC Cube, GOOD Design Award, iF Product Design Award, and the ELLE Deco International Design Award (EDIDA).
Their conceptual works have been exhibited at institutions such as the Odunpazari Modern Museum, Triennale di Milano, Porto Design Biennale, and Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden. Represented by Galleria Rossana Orlandi in Milan, they continue to push the boundaries of design. In 2024, Yellowdot received the Young Design Talent award at the ELLE Deco International Design Awards in Turkey.
