Michael has been Head of Academic Development and Head of External Affairs Office at Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) since 2016. The major role of these positions are to upkeep the academic advancement in pace with the international and Mainland development and transfer such advancement into the curricula. In addition, he is responsible to facilitate academic developments of HKDI, this including curriculum development, programme enrichment and industry collaboration. As the Head of External Affairs Office, he is responsible for all international, Mainland and industrial collaboration of HKDI and the management of all galleries’ exhibitions.

As a Registered Architect, he won more than thirty awards in local and international competitions. His essays were published locally and inter- nationally including Japan, Singapore and Vienna. He was the Panel Speaker in different conferences such as IAA Symposium in Osaka; AsiaGSD in Harvard University; A.A.Asia Workshop in Malaysia; Tsinghua University in Beijing and DESIGNTODAY in Japan. He has participated in the exhibition of ‘City on the Move’ and he was selected at one of the participants in the La Biennale di Venezia Exhibition 2000 in Venice. In addition, he was appointed as the Alternate Director of Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), the Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industry Associations and the Board Member of Museum Advisory Committee, LCSD.
