Huang Ka Lam, Anson
Spatial Design | Graduate of University of Hong Kong (Architectural Studies)
Anson Huang is an architectural designer whose work explores the relationship between the built environment, place, and shared identity. He recently completed a Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Hong Kong.
His work investigates how architecture shapes belonging, civic life, and collective memory. Rather than treating buildings as isolated objects, he approaches design as a medium that responds to context, carries meaning, and participates in the civic life of a community. Alongside this, Anson draws and paints, using these practices to explore personal spatial experience and the intersection of art and architecture. This inquiry into architecture’s civic role in shaping identity and public life earned him the J.H. Kinoshita Prizes and the Eric Lye Memorial Travelling Award. These recognitions support his continued exploration of how design can engage meaningfully with the places and people it serves.
Anson aims to bridge design practice with a deeper understanding of place and society. By combining spatial imagination, artistic exploration, and attention to lived experience, he seeks to create architecture that is both visionary and grounded in the realities of everyday life.
