Michelle Lau, a graduate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Higher Diploma in Multimedia Design and Technology, is a celebrated fashion photographer known for her work with international brands and magazines. Her photography is defined by an innovative interplay between the human form and architectural spaces, creating a unique style that harmonises fashion and environment.
One of her standout projects, Atem, explores the spatial relationship between human breath and its surrounding space. The work challenges traditional portraiture and has been featured in European and American publications such as WGSN, FRAME and Vanity Teen magazine. In I’m Livin' It, Michelle worked as the still photographer for Hong Kong Film Awards-nominated film, capturing the lives of Hong Kong’s marginalised communities. Through her lens, she blended romanticism with pressing local issues, portraying the deep emotional narratives of the characters, including the award-winning actor Aaron Kwok.
