Chris Cheung Hon Him (h0nh1m) is best known for his installation art and audiovisual performance. His artistic expression depends upon electronic, sound, image and creative technology in new media. His works include No Longer Write, The Book of Ashes and CarbonScape. His latest works No Longer Write – Mochiji and InkFlux challenge conventional Eastern ink aesthetics and are collected in UOB Art collection. RadianceScape project has won him the ZKM – Giga Hertz Awards in 2020.
 
Chris is always eager to explore new mediums and look for aesthetics in technological intervention. His reverence for Eastern and Western philosophy are central to his oeuvre, which he blends traditional ideology and futuristic imagination. Since 2005, his works have been recognized by numerous international awards and festivals, and have been exhibited at leading platforms including Ars Electronica in Austria, the WRO Media Art Biennale in Poland, and the Japan Media Arts Festival. He has won prestigious international awards in the Red Dot, TDC, Lumen Prize, Frame Awards, GDC, JTA, GDA, DFA Awards and New York Art Director Club Young Guns 11. In 2025, he was awarded Artist of the Year (Media Arts) at the 19th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards.
 
He established artist collective, XCEPT and XCEED in 2008. The collective works are showcased worldwide. In 2014, he was appointed as the Curator and Artistic Consultant of the 1st HK-SZ Design Biennale and has been invited as guest speaker in multiple global events including Christie’s Art and Tech Summit, Eyeo Festival and Business of Design Week. His dedication to cultivating art, tech and future living in local community has inspired him to set up XPLOR lab and FutureTense platform.
