Dr Edmund Lee is the Executive Director of Hong Kong Design Centre, the HKSAR Government’s strategic partner on design dedicated to raising Hong Kong’s profile as a design hub and driving value creation through design and innovation.

Dr Lee is a Companion of Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce. He currently serves as Board of Director of PMQ; Joint Convener of the annual Business of IP Asia Forum; Member of the Design Council of The Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Advisory Committee on Design, Licensing and Marketing of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Central and Western District Advisory Committee of Urban Renewal Authority. He is also a Co-opted Member of the Task Force on Harbourfront Developments in Kowloon, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing of Harbourfront Commission, committee member of the Design Council of IE School of Architecture and Design (Spain), member of the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Active Ageing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee of Hong Kong International Airport. He is Past President of Rotary Club of Hong Kong Financial Centre and honorary member of Rotary Club of Innovation Hong Kong, and holds membership in a number of professional bodies and service organisations.

Dr Lee received his PhD in Biotechnology and BSc in Microbiology from King’s College London, and MBA from Warwick Business School. He has completed executive education in Design (Institute of Design Knowledge workshops with Royal College of Art; IIT Institute of Design; TU Delft); Corporate Governance (Directors’ College, Stanford Law School); Non-profit Management (Club Scholarship, Harvard Business School); and Blockchain Strategy (Oxford Saïd Business School). Dr Lee has also received a Postgraduate Certificate in Chinese Medicine (HKU SPACE).
